Plagiarism Screening

Medivara Journal of Nursing and Midwifery  maintains a strict policy against plagiarism and all forms of unethical publication practices. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.

Authors are required to ensure that all submitted manuscripts are original works. Any use of ideas, data, words, figures, or materials from other sources must be appropriately cited and acknowledged in accordance with academic standards. Direct quotations must be clearly indicated and properly referenced.

Authors should not submit manuscripts describing substantially similar research to more than one journal simultaneously. Duplicate submission, redundant publication, and multiple publication of the same research are considered unethical publishing practices and are unacceptable.

Proper acknowledgment of the work of other researchers must always be provided. Authors are expected to cite publications and scholarly works that have significantly contributed to the development and context of the reported research.

Plagiarism Screening Process

All manuscripts submitted to Medivara Journal of Nursing and Midwifery  undergo plagiarism screening through the following procedures:

  1. The Editorial Team conducts an initial manual assessment using both offline and online databases to evaluate proper citation practices, quotation accuracy, and potential textual overlap.
  2. Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software and similarity checking systems, including Crossref Similarity Check, iThenticate, and other relevant academic plagiarism detection tools.
  3. The journal follows the ethical guidelines and procedures established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling suspected cases of plagiarism and publication misconduct.

Manuscripts identified as containing significant plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, or unethical citation practices will be rejected immediately. In cases involving minor similarity or unintended overlap, authors may be requested to revise the manuscript and provide clarification before further editorial consideration.
